Should the Supreme Court instead of politicians run this country now?

Judges not elected but appointed from a secret list somehow,

Something tells me that the present system is their sacred cow,

Can’t elect our primeminister by name because they wont allow.

Could we fix the system so that we the people run our affairs?

There seems to be a prevalent attitude that nobody really cares,

But how do we impress those who need to be impressed?

Could we tell them and would they care if we were depressed?

Could we have compulsory voting or fifty dollars at tax time?

Could we have binding referendums and jail those into crime?

Could we have proportional representation and set-date elections?

Does anyone care or will anyone try to make these corrections?

Our politicians are already locked to their party agendas,

Programmed what to think or what preach from any veranda,

Therefore our politicians can’t have an independent idea,

Unless it’s in keeping with their party program of panacea.

Therefore our party politicians oppose referendums too,

And elected senators or Supreme Court judges but what’s new?

No plebiscites, proportional representation or compulsory votes,

These are never discussed by party politicians so take notes,

You might wonder how we go about getting their attention,

We don’t because we’re politically correct and no dissention,

Less than half of us vote so everything must be okay,

It would be nice to think that we might fix this on Christmas day.

Why do I read so much in the papers about refugees?

Claiming rights under Trudeau’s Charter for themselves and adoptees,

I get the impression that they are all accepted and put on welfare,

Therefore there is no need for them to go to the US or elsewhere.

And those who end up in court and might need some bail or go to jail,

No need to be concerned or worry because welfare will prevail,

And our politically correct politicians know what’s right,

And less than half Canadians vote and everyone’s polite.

Therefore refugees can phone all their friends and relatives back home,

To come on and claim refugee status and there’s no need to moan,

And bring all those relatives to Canada because it’s great,

Canadians don’t have referendums so they don’t have much debate.

They’re going to the appointed Supreme Court again soon,

To help out with their polygamy and their many-wives commune,

To the same appointed crowd that legalized the Insite drug clinic,

You can guess the outcome now even if you are a complete cynic.

I think polygamy will cause more problems than it will solve,

Though it will get the polygamists legal problems resolved,

But we can’t change the Supreme Court or the Charter of Rights,

Should our Canadian legal system be getting the last rites?

Has someone written somewhere that we are not allowed to change?

The gospel of Trudeau’s Charter and no one thinks this is strange?

As polygamy increases and more people get involved,

Will we all look back and wish all this could be resolved?

Who are these people who want Insite clinics here and there?

For Toronto drug addicts, many already on welfare,

In Vancouver they went to the appointed Supreme Court,

Stopped the feds from closing it down and helped those who snort.

And Canadians who seldom vote don’t know what’s going on,

In front of their faces, down the street, fifty yards from their front lawn,

We need some leadership soon or the Occupy idiots take charge,

And demand Charter Rights and more Insite clinics as they barge.

You have the information now but you don’t know what to do,

Without recall or referendums but their Charter and who knew?

Without set-date elections so they can wait and wait some more,

Therefore we Canadians can all go back to bed and snore.

I’m not pleased about our appointed Supreme Court decision,

They allowed the Insite clinic to stay open with precision,

And told the Ottawa politicians where they could go,

Though the free drug addict needles would cost a lot of dough.

These Supreme Court decisions treated like the word of god,

Canadians obey quickly and quietly with a nod,

These appointed aristocrats from a very secret list,

Appointed by the very politicians they now resist.

Did someone teach these lawyers how to be aloof aristocrats?

Did they not realize that they could now be viewed as dingbats?

Have they gone over to the other side to help drug addicts?

Who buy their illegal drugs on the street amid these conflicts?

We need propositions binding referendums and much more,

We need recall, proportional representation and esprit de corps,

We need death with dignity and set date elections, nudge, nudge,

We also need elected senators and Supreme Court judges.

We may soon have polygamy and Insite clinics here and there,

Results of appointed Supreme Court decisions everywhere,

Where drug addicts can get their needles for free, thanks to you and me,

And maybe eventually even their drugs, as we wait and see.

But political changes are forbidden by a hundred rules,

Written by bureaucrats for us and the other working fools,

And if you are reading this poetry; you are out of line,

So stand up, bow your head, show respect and be refined.
