Catholic Church survived for thousands of years but nothing like this,

A  sexual scandal with large-scale bankruptcies, can’t be dismissed,

This is worse than Martin Luther and King Henry the eight combined,

This could put devout Catholics in a different frame of mind.

Stuff usually hidden by bishops is there on the Internet,

Can the holy church withstand this and pay off the colossal debt?

As each day brings new monster sinful criminal allegations,

Added attacks on the church foundations and organizations.

The web sites and the accusations stretch from wall to wall,

Not something that can be hidden and forgiven in the short haul,

What church changes will we eventually see because of this?

Too big to be dumped or swept under the carpet or dismissed.

Dear Sheila: I read your article in the National Post today,

I am also reading Peter Newman’s latest book and it’s okay,

I e-mailed Stephen but like the Liberals, he pays no attention,

But if he pulls a Mulroney GST, it’s no extension.

Liberals in the penalty box because they thought they had it made,

The idea of death with dignity was something they forbade,

With recall and proportional representation also hidden,

Like pedophile priests in the Church where openness if forbidden.

Because writing to you or Stephen is like swimming upstream,

Filtered by a commission of bureaucrats on each team,

The ideas that are not acceptable are quickly deleted,

So you can see now why the Liberals were defeated.

Euthanasia advocates want dying made easy and legal,

Though religious advocates look on all this as sinful and evil,

We should not have to go to Switzerland to arrange to die,

When we have abortion clinics here and there and no one asks why.

Death on demand is frowned on except for unborn babies,

No one seems to question these abortion bound young pregnant ladies,

But euthanasia and death with dignity is just not allowed,

By Supreme Court judges dressed like a Santa-Clause crowd.

Doesn’t matter if you have a terrible terminal illness,

Soon to be cold dead in a coffin in complete stillness,

Sue Rodriguez had Lou Gehrig’s disease when she was told,

Though she too soon joined the painful dead long before she was old.

The Supreme Court hidden agenda doesn’t make much sense

Protecting the Insite drug-addict needle clinic under some pretence

Where addicts get clean needles to inject illegal drugs they bought,

From some drug-dealing criminal who never seems to get caught.

Supreme Court refused the government permission to close it down,

These appointees, ladies and gentlemen, dressed up in red gowns,

It appeared that the Supreme Court crossed over to the other side,

Really arrogant about this too and not the least bit shy.

This group of secret-list appointees who seem to be above the law,

Therefore their actions cannot be viewed as a judicial flaw,

They banned death with dignity and allowed abortions wall to wall,

A form of dictatorship from appointees who can't get recalled.

Why do we need appointees from a secret list, we can’t see?

To the Senate and the Supreme Court; names we may not agree,

Is this the reason why less than half Canadians even vote?

And politicians wont make it compulsory; please take note.

Could we elect the governor general while we’re at it too?

Another unknown appointee from a secretly listed crew,

Not a very democratic system, which no one will point out,

Plus another reason not to vote because we have no clout.

But we have Trudeau’s Charter of Rights for EVERYONE in the world,

And that includes every terrorist in the underworld,

We have a Supreme Court that allows unborn babies to be killed,

Our unelected appointed aristocrats are really thrilled.

Ennis will forever be enshrined in my mind,

A small mark on the map from another place and time.

Memories dimmed by many years as though cut with a knife,

First seventeen years of love and laughter in my life.

In a town bowed down by poverty struggling to survive,

Back lanes of half-door houses waiting someone to arrive.

Narrow winding streets full of friends and farmers’ horses,

Pompous priests dressed in black who always walked on water,

And girls in long green dresses that came down below their knees,

Moving past on bicycles; boys waiting for a breeze,

And cows moving slowly herded down towards the water,

Where their blood will fill the Fergus from the houses of slaughter.

And the Christian Brothers School where Brother Brien taught,

No such thing as freedom especially freedom of thought.

We learned everything in Gaelic in the very ancient script,

Letters from the Book of Kells or some ancient warrior’s crypt.

Where are the guys I knew so well; stole by emigration?

Or shied from skirts that only hurt and joined some congregation.

And now the town is filled with cars and strangers wall to wall,

A noisy rush of foreigners in a one-way traffic crawl.

And people don’t have the time to talk or gossip half the day.

They’re in a hurry, got to scurry, got to make their pay.

And traffic lights with tourist types looking out from buses,

This madness of modern times, I wonder ‘bout the pluses?

THE UN SEEMS TO BE IN A MESS Jan 1^st, 2012

The UN seems to have gone from bad to worse in recent years,

Screaming about human rights in their agitated fears,

But everything is bent in an anti Semitic direction,

Their Durban II and their Durban III in dark reflection.

And that’s not all; an odd group seems to have taken complete control,

And now it seems that the UN has a complete biased role?

And what’s next in their weird schedule of Durban III events?

And how can normal people and countries do to circumvent?

How much influence does New York City have on that UN place?

Because that glass building is turning into a downright disgrace,

Does anyone ever investigate what’s going on in there?

Or has it reached a point so low that nobody really cares?
