SHOULD WE LOCK THEM UP    OCT 22ND, 2014

Should we lock up those inclined to be terrorist types or just watch?

Could our reaction to terrorist events be something we could botch?

Can we rewrite the Charter in order to curtail their rights?

So that we can just lock them up and just turn out the lights.

Is this something we should get excited about or just watch on TV?

Could these incidents get out of hand and affect you and me?

Should the rights of a would-be terrorist be taken into account?

How would the Supreme Court react or would they discount?

Apparently they have the names of these would-be terrorist types,

No doubt each and everyone of them claiming Charter rights,

So that they can't be arrested because they haven't broken the law,

But ordinary people looking on, find that this is beginning to gnaw.

Unfortunately those in high places never want to agree,

They tend to view suicide as sinful and awful debauchery,

Therefore it is treated as something to be avoided at all costs,

Like a big bee hive in a tree full of huge stinging wasps.

Canada needs to arrange binding referendums like the Swiss?

Ottawa would have to pay attention instead of all going for a piss,

We could tell them that death with dignity is vital here and now,

Or they will lose their party-position jobs which we would allow.

But binding referendums probably means a constitutional change,

Because we can't quite do it like the Province of Quebec arranged,

We need someone who can amend the Charter of Rights in our favour,

Because these Charter changes might be a real life saviour

What can we do to cause political Ottawa change?

Because death-with-dignity should be legalized and arranged,

Because four US states and Quebec have it now,

Therefore  we should be able to do this without causing a row.

Why is doctor assisted death never mentioned up there?

Are they so high up in Ottawa, that they can't breath the air?

Is the Sue Rodriguez decision going to effect us all our lives?

Even if we die in terrible pain slowly waiting for death to arrive.

Why have we been treated as if we were completely unknown?

Treated as if we didn't have an address, an e-mail or a phone

Why do they call it assisted suicide, as if it is a crime?

Who is pulling the strings up there now and all the time?

Time flies; things happen; words are often said behind closed doors,

If death-with-dignity was dropped; proper politicians might score,

One annoying subject which of course, the religious seem to despise,

And religious folk are holy and forbidden to tell lies.

Therefore subjects they avoid are never brought up for discussion,

Therefore death-with-dignity will never cause political repercussion,

Because Quebec has death-with-dignity, doesn't mean, we should foo,

But if we had a referendum; the opposition would be seen as only a few.

Could I move to Quebec to get my death-with-dignity rights?

In order to avoid a painful terrible death in the middle of the night,

Unfortunately our politicians will not allow referendums in any way,

Because we might tell them, what to do and therefore what to say.

If the Americans can have jails for profit, why can't we?

Is there any way we could get our politicians to agree?

Because it is extremely expensive to keep a man in jail,

And there must be a cheaper way to do it in great detail.

Why do we call them correctional facilities instead of jails

Is it our early release system, the good food or our easy bails?

Is there something we need to know to improve our organization?

The huge expense, the overcrowding without an explanation.

Why is this subject so shunned by our comfortable politicians?

Unfortunately we have Trudeau’s Charter and soft conditions,

Without referendums or recall so nothing will be done,

That and no death with dignity and nothing can be won.

Our religious types want to rule the roost for ever and ever,

They are part of the establishment and think they are quite clever,

Therefore death with dignity will never never be allowed,

Not for the Ontario or the other Canadian crowd.

But Quebec has already passed a death-with-dignity law,

They also have referendums and do not think that this is a flaw,

But somehow; on this issue, we seem to be stuck in no-man's land,

And our Ottawa establishment seems to think that this is grand.

We need a change to the Charter or maybe the rules of the road,

They don't want to understand us; its as if we speak in code,

We need someone with a very loud voice on our side,

Because we know we are right and we know we have pride.

A FIERCE HOLY MISSION ….     OCT 14TH, 2014

A planned peaceful painless death would be a good way to die,

But there are many opponents to this idea and I don't know why,

Though they write page after page trying to explain,

And it makes sense to them; though it won't go into my brain.

Religious enthusiasts have their own reasons and think they're right,

Their enthusiasm strikes me that this issue is not in their sight,

Because everlasting hell and punishment does not make sense to me,

Of course I know that there is no way in hell that they will agree.

So I think we should relax and slowly get back to reality,

Realize we should change death-with-dignity legality,

If Quebec can do it, we can do it; despite the opposition,

Though they behave as if they are on a fierce holy mission.
