The Canadian Parole Board issue June 22nd, 2012
By
The
Parole Board is not so much the problem as we ourselves,
They are
a proud appointed organization, pleased with themselves,
It's because
we are not allowed to interfere with their decisions,
We don’t
have referendums and we’re not allowed revisions.
As they allow criminals their freedom after a third of their time,
Maybe killed a policeman or other murder or organized crime,
But our pompous politicians stopped the death penalty that was,
And then
they inserted the fifteen-year faint-hope clause.
Even
though their statistics show that half these criminals will return,
Clog up
the criminal court system but it is not their concern,
It is us
and our lack of input in these life and death decisions,
There is
something drastically wrong in our justice provisions.
